This is NOT a slumber party. The purpose of the Ramadan Lock-In is for the girls to work on completing the Ramadan Patch. They will perform community service assisting with the iftar and prayer preparations for the evening. They will also learn about the purpose, benefits and details of Ramadan. Some of the activities that the Girl Scouts will participate in include: setting up for iftar, serving food, cleaning up after iftar, praying taraweeh, Ramadan arts and crafts, and learning more about Ramadan. Girls will review relevant ayat from Quran and Hadith, and engage in thought provoking discussions. The activities will be supervised and balanced between worship, service, and fun. All girls who attend the Ramadan Lock-In and participate in the activities will be awarded the Ramadan Patch in the fall.
INDUCTION CEREMONY: 37 New Girl Scouts!
This will be our final Girl Scout activity of the summer. Scouts will come together to volunteer, serving and cleaning for iftar. Following taraweeh salat, Girl Scout Troop 3480 will stay overnight at PGMA, participating in activities to earn the Girl Scout Ramadan Badge. More information will be posted on this activity shortly and permission slips will be distributed at the July 13th meeting. This activity is available for Daisy’s only when accompanied by a parent chaperone for the entire night.
