Juniors will begin their Animal Habitats badge with a interpretive pontoon boat tour down the Anacostia River. A naturalist will teach the girls about animal habitats and characteristics, guide them in discovering where animals live, what they eat, how they move, how they adapt to survive, and much more. The program will focus on Reptiles, Amphibians, Mammals, Birds and Fish. Girls will also explore the furs and bones of various animals.
Girls should wear weather appropriate clothing and their vests. Dress in layers; the temperature on the water is often much cooler than on land.
