السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته
As Salaamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatulaahi wa Barakatuh
Peace be upon you and the Mercy of Allah and His blessings
Established in 2012, PGMA Girl Scouts is a multi-level Girl Scout troop that meets every other Friday, 6 – 8PM at Prince George’s Muslim Association (PGMA) in Lanham, Maryland, and is a part of the Girl Scout Council of the Nation’s Capital, Service Unit 22-6. As Muslims, our troop incorporates our Islamic way of life into our Girl Scout program. It is our intention to build girls of strong faith, “courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place.”
We are a part of a community of more than 3.2 million girls and adults worldwide empowering girls through enriching experiences, and positive friendships, self-reflection, and service in cooperation with others.
The Girl Scout Promise
On my honor, I will try:
To serve God and my country,
To help people at all times,
And to live by the Girl Scout Law.
The Girl Scout Law
I will do my best to be
honest and fair,
friendly and helpful,
considerate and caring,
courageous and strong, and
responsible for what I say and do,
and to
respect myself and others,
respect authority,
use resources wisely,
make the world a better place, and
be a sister to every Girl Scout.
