Eid Mubarak!

Girl Scout Troop 3480 wishes everyone a blessed and joyous Eid al Adha. May every year find us in the best of health and strong faith. As we celebrate the bounties bestowed on us, please remember to keep our oppressed brothers and sisters around the world in our prayers. May Allah ease their suffering and remove their oppression. REMINDER: Troop 3480 Bridging Ceremony, THIS SUNDAY, Sep 27

brooksideBridgeTroop 3480’s Bridging Ceremony will be on Sunday September 27, 2015 at 10:30AM inshaAllah at Brookside Gardens in Wheaton Regional Park. 

Once at Brookside Gardens, meet at the Bridge to Understanding in the Gude Garden area near the labyrinth. After the ceremony girls and their families are welcome to bring a lunch, enjoy the playground, and explore the butterfly exhibit and gardens.

Parking is available in several areas, but the most convenient parking lots are next to the Shorefield Picnic & Playground Area and the Brookside Gardens Conservatory. Street parking is also available on Heurich Road. Download the park map and familiarize yourself with the Brookside Gardens Etiquette.

Start from location 1 on the park map. Park on the left near the playground. The path to Brookside Gardens starts next to the playground on the left of the restroom sign. Take the left path at the park map sign. Walk 5 minutes. At the end of the path, open the gate on the left and you will see the bridge. The Shorefield parking area is more convenient for lunch and the playground after the ceremony.

Start from location 3 on the park map. Walk to the left behind the conservatory building and take the left path walking about 3 minutes. Cross over a bridge in the path, then stay straight a few more yards to the Bridge of Understanding which will be on the right in the Gude Garden. Note: Parking is limited to 39 spaces at the Conservatory parking lot. This lot is often full due to the Wings of Fancy Live Butterfly & Caterpillar Exhibit.

Brownie World of Girls Journey in a Day, Oct 24

brownieWorldOfGirlsJourneySetBrownies will attend the World of Girls Journey in a Day at Chesapeake Children’s Museum in Annapolis, MD. In this workshop, Brownies will complete Hear a Story, Change a Story, Tell a Story and Better World for Girls with a service project at Chesapeake Children’s Museum. Upon completion they will be eligible to receive the 4 World of Girls journey badges to place on the front of their vest.

Please complete the permission form and bring $10 to the first troop and parent meeting at PGMA on October 9 inshaAllah. Girls should arrive 9:45AM, wear their uniforms and bring a bag lunch. Parents are responsible for transportation to and from the event.
