On Your Own: Girl Scout Day at the National Building Museum

Periodically there will be events that parents and girls can do together without their troop. We’ll call them “On Your Own” events. These events are NOT Troop 3480 group field trips. We’ll give you the information and parents and their girl scouts can choose to go on their own.

Join the Girl Scouts of the Nations Capital for Girl Scout Day at the National Building Museum on Saturday October 20, 2012. This day is geared towards Daisy, Brownie and Junior Scouts. Parents can register their girl(s) and allow them to work for a patch that day. Registration prior to Saturday is recommended. Register your daughter here. Find out more about the Journey Activities here.

Update to Troop 3480 Archery Workshop

The Archery workshop for Juniors, Cadettes and Seniors is still on this Saturday, but Sr. Yasmine wants to make sure the girls come prepared:

  1. Wear sneakers, ankle boots or other comfortable and supportive footwear because we plan to be shooting on the grass,
  2. There are no restroom facilities at the Adelphi Manor Archery Range. Take care of that before you come!
  3. Bring a completed permission form (if she hasn’t turned it in already),
  4. Wear the Girl Scout vest and/or pin only. Girls do not have to wear the full uniform.
  5. Come prepared to aim for the center of the target!
