Sometimes goal setting can be so abstract. Not with indoor climbing. Girls will have to set their goal to reach the top and make physical efforts to reach it. In addition to being a total body workout, indoor climbing also offers added mental elements of problem solving and team building.
PGMA Girls will be climbing at Earth Treks, a state-of-the-art indoor rock climbing gym in Columbia, MD. For two hours, girls will have their own private climbing area as well as private instructors to make sure all equipment is safe and that girls are climbing safely. After an orientation and low sideways climbing to warm up, the girls will transition to vertical climbing with the help of Earth Treks instructors.
In addition to completing the indoor climbing permission form, all climbers under 18 must have the Earth Treks waiver signed by a parent in order to participate. There are only 15 spots available for Ambassador, Senior, and Cadette Girl Scouts, so don’t wait to get your paperwork turned in. Girls should wear clothes to move in and close-toed shoes (like sneakers).
Turn in paperwork and payment by 8 March 2013 to Sis. Kori or email GirlScoutTroopMama [at] gmail [dot] com.
