Save the Date: Come to Cookie College on December 1, 2012

The Girl Scout cookie business is the largest girl-run business in the world. Because Girl Scouts is a girl-lead organization, your girls run the meetings, set goals and accomplish them. The major fundraiser for Girl Scouts is cookie sales. This is how the troop will raise the majority of its money to provide your girls with rewarding experiences such as camping and exciting trips.

In order for our girls to be effective cookie sellers they need to learn basic business skills such as marketing, making a pitch, and managing money. All this and more is taught at Cookie College where girls will learn about food science, the business of selling, the history of Girl Scout cookies, and much more, just in time for this year’s cookie sales. This program has proven to increase troops’ cookie sales dramatically. After completing Cookie College, girls will have earned the official Cookie College Diploma!

Troop 3480 is asking ALL girls new to scouting to attend Cookie College on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at St. George’s Episcopal Church in Glenn Dale, MD, from 1 to 4PM. We will meet at the location at 12:45PM. The $5 fee for this training also includes a Fun patch and lunch.

We will be updating troop leaders and parents as more information becomes available through the service unit, so mark your calendars and save the date for Cookie College.
