Back to Troop This Friday, Sep 9

As Salaamu Alaikum Girl Scout Families!

Our first meeting for the 2016/2017 year is this Friday, September 9, 6 – 7:30PM inshaAllah. Please be on time and remember to bring your daughter’s health form.

A few reminders and notes:

  • One more time: Bring your daughter’s health form.
  • Troop meetings are for girls only. Parents are not permitted to attend the Girl Scout troop meetings, however we will hold a Back to Troop Night for parents October 7.
  • Parents who have not already signed up for volunteer positions can do so this Friday.
  • We will begin collecting dues at the September 23 troop meeting. Dues are $60 and $40 for Daisies. Please see Sister Alia for financial aid information.
  • All bridging Girl Scouts should go to their new troop level, although bridging ceremonies will take place in October inshaAllah.

There are many new girls, so please exercise patience as we get new scouts situated this September. We look forward to seeing you all Friday inshaAllah!

Silver Trefoil Alert: 2016 Earth Day River Clean Up

earthDayPatchProgram: 2016 Earth Day River Clean Up

Who: All Levels

When: April 23, 2016 10AM- 12PM

Where: River Terrace Park Anacostia Ave and Dix Ave, NE

What: This will be a river clean up with the Earth Conservation Corps, the DC Department of Energy and the Environment, and the Audubon Society. Everyone should wear boots and clothes they don’t mind getting dirty. This clean up will contribute to the restoration of the Anacostia River in our nation’s capital. There is plenty of parking and lots of signage so you can easily identify the location of the site. This is a Girl Scout only event.
