Register Now for Girl Scout Engineering Saturday, Oct 11

gses-patch-2012Girl Scout Engineering Saturday (GSES) is a program for local Girl Scout troops in Maryland and the Washington metropolitan area. Cadettes and Seniors (grades 6-10) engage in fun hands-on activities and earn the Women in Engineering Girl Scout Engineering Saturday patch. This program is offered twice a year in February and October. There is a $10 registration fee for each participant to cover lunch and the cost of patches.

Goals of GSES

  • To expose Girl Scout Troops to engineering related activities
  • To introduce young women to professional career options in engineering or science
  • To provide university students with the chance to develop and implement engineering related activities, and to enhance their communication and leadership skills

Please note that because of high program interest only a limited number of participants are able to be accommodated. You will be notified upon acceptance to the program and provided additional program details regarding payment and permission forms as well as directions to campus and the program schedule.

Registration for GSES is on a first come, first serve basis. Please submit the Online Registration Form as soon as possible to secure your space in this program. A notice will be posted on the website when all spaces are filled.

A big thank you to all the girls who came out to help with the Girl Scout Week of Service at PGMA. The Ambassadors, Seniors, Cadettes and Juniors helped set up, serve and clean up while the Brownies and Daisies helped set up and promote recycling at the masjid.

Thank you also to the parents who brought their girls out and to the troop leaders who stepped in to help as well.

We are grateful for your commitment, your attentiveness and your smiles. May your reward for your good deeds during this month be multiplied and your fast, ibadah and sadaqah be accepted during this blessed month.
