Brownie Recycling Center Tour, May 31

greenBinsOn Saturday, May 31st, Troop 3480 Brownies will tour the Prince George’s County Materials Recycling Facility, see a short video describing recycling, and then watch recyclables travel through a maze of conveyer belts where they are sorted by workers and machines. Brownies should bring recyclables they have gathered to help their communities. We will be able to walk over to the conveyer belts and take action by recycling.

The tour duration is 10 – 11AM. Please arrive by 9:45AM or earlier. Girls should wear their vest and white hijab. This event fulfills some requirements for the Brownie Quest Journey. Download the permission slip and return by May 23 troop meeting.

Cadette Hijab & Fashion Workshop, 9 May

iLoveHijabStyleModest Fashion Blogger and Stylist, Hakeemah Cummings will do a Hijab & Fashion Workshop for the Cadettes as they work on their MEdia Journey. The workshop will occur during the May 9 troop meeting, inshaAllah, so while there is a $3 fee, no permission slip is required.

Troop Meeting Cancelled This Friday, Apr 11

large_gonecampingLots of Troop 3480 girl scouts and several dedicated troop leaders and volunteers will be camping at Camp Brighton Woods this weekend beginning this Friday evening, inshaAllah. Troop Management has decided to cancel this Friday’s troop meeting on April 11.

We’ll see you at the next troop meeting on Friday, April 25, 6 – 7:30PM, inshaAllah.

Those who are not going camping should take this time to complete the early bird registration for 2014-2015. Girl Scouts currently registered with Troop 3480 should re-register by June 1, 2014 or risk losing their spot in the Fall.
