Junior Animal Homes Program, Mar 21

junior_animal-habitats_largeJuniors will learn about the habitats and homes of animals at Mount Rainier Nature Center on Saturday, 21 March at 10:45AM. In addition to completing the Animal Habitats badge, this program will also help the girls on their Get Moving Journey.

Cadette & Junior Crime Museum Badge Programs, Apr 4

crimeMuseumLogoThe Crime Museum is offering badge programs that go above and beyond the basics and teach Girl Scouts the ins and outs of investigation. All the programs include admission to the Museum, so not only will girls earn a badge, but they will also learn and explore American History from a different perspective.

For the Cadette Special Agent badge program, girls will learn the secrets from the worlds of forensic science and criminal psychology. In the Junior Detective badge program, girls will learn the necessary skills and discover a new passion by becoming an official Crime Museum Detective.

Girls should dress for the weather and wear Girl Scout vests. We will depart New Carollton Metro at 10:45AM. The program lasts 12 Noon – 2PM. We will return to New Carrollton Metro at 3PM. Because this is a prepaid trip there are no refunds. Please check the dates prior to payment. No tag-a-longs.

Silver Trefoil Hours Alert: Girl Scout Conference Champion

keysToLeadershipLogoAre you a proud Girl Scout in middle or high school? Do you need Council or International hours? Girl Scouts Nation’s Capital is hosting three leadership conferences in 2015 for middle and high school girls. Each conference will consist of interactive workshops and strong keynote sessions that will prepare you to be a stronger, more effective leader in your school, community, and even the world.

We need YOU to help make these conferences wonderful by serving as a Girl Scout Conference Champion!

The role of a Girl Scout Conference Champion:

  • Register for one of the 2015 GS Leadership Conferences
  • Spread the word about the conferences through all of your networks (social media, your school, extra-curricular activities, etc.)
  • Make sure at least one friend who is not a Girl Scout registers to attend the conference with you
  • Serve as a conference greeter on the day of the conference you attend (optional) – this role is eligible for Council/International hours
  • Conference Champions will receive a special patch and the opportunity to be included on the Nation’s Capital website.
