Junior/Brownie Spring Camping, Apr 13 – 14

springCampJuniors & Brownies want to get in some camping time before Ramadan. Girls will do archery, outdoor badges, cook & sing around the campfire, and have a wonderful time re-connecting with Allah’s creation outdoors inshaAllah.

Brownies will sleep in a lodge, while Juniors will sleep in glen shelters. It is essential for girls to be prepared for the weather. Download and use the camping supplies checklist in order to be prepared.

Permission forms and payments are due at the Friday, March 15 troop meeting.

Note: Dues must be paid in full in order to camp.

Reminder: World Thinking Day Celebration, Friday, Feb 22

As salaamu alaikum,

Several PGMA troops will be participating in the Service Unit World Thinking Day Celebration today, Friday, February 22, 2019, at Robert Goddard Montessori School, 6:30 – 9PM. Here are a few reminders for specific troops.

JUNIORS

  • Bring Junior permission forms and payments; $5 for Juniors whose dues are paid (or made a partial payment), otherwise $10.
  • Wear comfortable clothing and vest OR the Costa Rican scout uniform.
  • Bring at least three (3) coins. The coins will be used in an activity that is part of earning the Girl Scout Way badge. Coins will also be donated for repairs to the four WAGGGS World Centers in England, India, Mexico, and Switzerland.

CADETTES

  • Each Cadette should bring what she is responsible for regarding the Cadette booth (display board, food, swaps or decorations/supplies). Download, complete and turn in Cadette permission forms to Sister Hayat at the event.

College Symposium 2019, Feb 9

This College Symposium focuses on high school youth. However, it’s essential that middle school students are exposed to information early, so they are also encouraged to attend. There will be a panel of College MSA students discussing the “ins and outs” of attending college. In addition, there will also be financial aid/scholarship information (Q & A) and a presentation from representatives of DC MIST. Refreshments provided.
