PGMA Girl Scouts

The next regularly scheduled troop meeting will be tomorrow, Friday, February 28, 2020, 6 – 8PM, inshaAllah. Please be timely. Arrivals after 6:15PM are disruptive to troop meetings and strongly discouraged.

DAISIES

• Daisies will attend a health information fair hosted by the Brownies.

BROWNIES

• Brownies will present a health fair for the Daisies for their journey Take Action Project.
• The final group earning the Snack badge will bring in their homemade snacks to share.

JUNIORS

• Juniors will start working on their Girl Scout Way badge which helps girls find out about Girl Scout traditions and share activities and spirit that are a century strong. Here are the steps:
  1. Match songs to an occasion
  2. Celebrate the Girl Scout birthday
  3. Share sisterhood
  4. Leave a place better than you found it
  5. Enjoy Girl Scout traditions!

  When the Juniors earned this badge, they’ll know how to use the Girl Scout ways and traditions to make the world a better place.

CADETTES

• Cadettes will be completing the Leather badge that they began back in December. One of our parents has graciously volunteered to facilitate the earning of this badge.

SENIORS & AMBASSADORS

• Troop 2829 will be going out to dinner on March 13th and we need to vote on locations. Please submit your suggestions.
• Girls will be editing the PSA and completing this project.
• Please bring permission forms for the art event along with $5.
• Contact Sis Asma regarding questions about any announcement.

PARENTS

• Parents should see the Sis Maryam during the troop meeting to sign up to bring snacks for upcoming troop meetings inshaAllah.
• If you still have not turned in the health form for your Girl Scout, please do so immediately. Also, your Girl Scout’s troop dues ($50/girl) should be paid in full as soon as possible. Troop dues pay for badges, supplies and cover/supplement activity fees.

BROWNIES

• Brownies will be bringing snacks for their Snacks badge and practicing for their health fair take action project.

JUNIORS

• Juniors will earn their My Promise, My Faith pin inshaAllah which allows girls to further strengthen the connection between their faith and the Girl Scout law.

CADETTES

• Cadettes will be having a tea party on Friday. Girls should bring what they volunteered to bring during the 1/30/2020 troop meeting. Girls who were not present, should connect with their fellow Cadettes on the Cadette Google Hangout to see what they should bring. Cadettes should bring something (tea, snacks, paper goods, decorations, etc.) to the tea party in order to receive a patch for participation in the tea party.

SENIORS & AMBASSADORS

• Seniors and Ambassador troops will be doing the final filming of the PSA. Please be on time. Bring props and any equipment. Malika: please let us know if you don’t plan to attend the meeting.
• Girls will be having a henna workshop on Saturday, February 29 inshaAllah. This Friday is the last chance to sign up and pay $5 per girl. So far, 4 girls have signed up. The workshop will be cancelled unless there are a minimum of 10 girls or some Cadettes agree to fill the remaining spots.
• Girls who are are interested in the movie field trip should let Sis Asma know.

BROWNIES

• Brownies will be working on their Health Fair Take Action project.
• Some girls will present their homemade snacks to complete their Snacks badge.
• Please turn in permission forms for the February 8th Cybersecurity Workshop.

JUNIORS

• Professional teaching artist, Sis. Najiyyah, will be facilitating the second part of the drawing workshop to help the Juniors complete their Drawing badge inshaAllah. Girls must attend both troop meetings to earn the badge or do the steps they miss on their own and bring in their work to share. This two-part workshop & supplies is $20 per girl, cash, check or Cash App to $Troop3813.

CADETTES

• Cadettes will be having a bake off on Friday per their vote at the January 3rd troop meeting. Cadettes should prepare a baked good by themselves or with their fellow Cadettes in order to receive a patch for the bake off. Paper goods will be provided.

SENIORS & AMBASSADORS
