All PGMA Girl Scout Troop Meetings are Cancelled Until Further Notice

Troop Announcement

As salaamu alaikum parents,

All PGMA Girl Scout troop meetings for all levels are cancelled until further notice in order to mitigate the risk of spreading coronavirus in our community. For questions & concerns please contact your Girl Scout’s troop leader.

Please stay educated and informed from trustworthy sources like the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention on how to prevent illness, keep work, school & communities safe, and what to do if you are sick.

May Allah protect and guide us and may this trial be a means for us to draw nearer to Him and keep His remembrance on our tongues and hearts.

Brownie Quest Journey, Mar 15

Brownies are going to the Chesapeake Children’s Museum in Annapolis on Sunday, March 15, 2020, to earn their Brownie Quest journey badges.

Please meet at 8:45AM. Pick up is at 1:30PM on the dot.

Directions to Chesapeake Children’s Museum
From West of Annapolis:
– Take Route 50 east, use Exit 22, Aris. T. Allen Blvd. Stay on this (don’t get off at Riva Road) as it becomes Forest Drive.
– Turn left at the 4th traffic light, Hilltop Lane.
– Turn left at the first traffic light, Spa Road. Pass Gentry Court and Spindrift Way on your right.
– Take the next right, Silopanna Road. Look for the CCM sign on your left at the stop sign. Plenty of parking in the lot.

Reminder: Troop Meeting Tomorrow, Friday, Feb 28

The next regularly scheduled troop meeting will be tomorrow, Friday, February 28, 2020, 6 – 8PM, inshaAllah. Please be timely. Arrivals after 6:15PM are disruptive to troop meetings and strongly discouraged.

DAISIES

Daisies will attend a health information fair hosted by the Brownies.

BROWNIES

Brownies will present a health fair for the Daisies for their journey Take Action Project.
The final group earning the Snack badge will bring in their homemade snacks to share.

JUNIORS

Juniors will start working on their Girl Scout Way badge which helps girls find out about Girl Scout traditions and share activities and spirit that are a century strong. Here are the steps:
1. Match songs to an occasion
2. Celebrate the Girl Scout birthday
3. Share sisterhood
4. Leave a place better than you found it
5. Enjoy Girl Scout traditions!
When the Juniors earned this badge, they’ll know how to use the Girl Scout ways and traditions to make the world a better place.

CADETTES

Cadettes will be completing the Leather badge that they began back in December. One of our parents has graciously volunteered to facilitate the earning of this badge.

SENIORS & AMBASSADORS

Troop 2829 will be going out to dinner on March 13th and we need to vote on locations. Please submit your suggestions.
Girls will be editing the PSA and completing this project.
Please bring permission forms for the art event along with $5.
Contact Sis Asma regarding questions about any announcement.

PARENTS

Parents should see the Sis Maryam during the troop meeting to sign up to bring snacks for upcoming troop meetings inshaAllah.
If you still have not turned in the health form for your Girl Scout, please do so immediately. Also, your Girl Scout’s troop dues ($50/girl) should be paid in full as soon as possible. Troop dues pay for badges, supplies and cover/supplement activity fees.
