Cadette Media Journey Overnight at Gadsby’s Tavern Museum, Apr 24-25

cadetteMediaJourneyMedia is an unavoidable part of life, but are you controlling it or is it controlling you? Girls will use the collection of the Stabler-Leadbeater Apothecary Museum to examine types of media, persuasion techniques, and stereotypes. Then, using their new media savvy, they’ll take action and create a Public Service Announcement to get the real message about a topic that’s important to them. Saturday morning, the Cadettes will show their PSAs to the Junior Girl Scouts at the overnight and ask their survey questions. By the end of the overnight, girls will have completed all of the steps for the It’s Your Story—Tell It: Media leadership journey for Cadette Girl Scouts. Only 8 spaces are available on a first-come first-served basis. Payment due at the October 24, 2014 troop meeting.

NOTE: Adult chaperones for this overnight trip have been designated; additional adults will not be able to participate due to limited space. No tag-a-longs. No refunds. If there are spaces available for this event we will try to get additional tickets.
