Troop 3480 to Explore 1001 Inventions Exhibition on November 17

PGMA Girl Scout Troop 3480 is taking a fun field trip to the 1001 Inventions Exhibition at the National Geographic Museum on Saturday, 17 November 2012. The girls will learn more about the men and women of different faith and cultures during the Golden Age of Islam that stretched from Spain to China from the 7th to the 17th centuries. These discoveries in the fields of art, science, medicine, commerce, architecture and engineering have left their mark on our world today. For example, Fatima al-Fihri founded the world’s first university, Al Qarawayin, which still stands today in Fez, Morocco, and continues to be one of the leading spiritual and educational centers of the Muslim world.
