Junior Green Energy Tour of the Embassy of Finland, Apr 10

embassyFinlandInsideAs a part of the Investigate Award of the Get Moving! Journey, Juniors are investigating energy use in buildings and then will use what they learn to suggest energy improvements at home and in community buildings. InshaAllah, Juniors will be touring the Embassy of Finland, the first embassy in the United States to be awarded the U.S. Green Building Council’s prestigious Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certificate for green buildings. Afterwards, Juniors will finish the trip with a stop at Hello Cupcake!

Girls should wear the full Girl Scout uniform: white shirt, khaki pants or jilbab, along with their vest and white hijab. Girls will need a SmartTrip card with $11 metro fare and $3.25 for a cupcake.

Note: The 7 April deadline to turn in permission forms is firm because names of attendees must be submitted to the Embassy of Finland by 7 April 2015. Email permission forms to Sis. Kori at girlScoutTroopMama [at] gmail [dot] com.
