Riding a horse is one of the most exciting things you can do. But ask any good horseback rider her secret to success and she’ll say that understanding a horse is as important as learning how to ride one. Get clued in to horses, and get ready to ride!
Juniors will earn their Horseback Riding badge by learning the basics of horseback riding and horse safety, taking care of a horse, and then going for a ride at Beech Grove Farm in Gambrills, MD, inshaAllah. All girls are required to wear a heeled boot or shoe in order to ride. Girls should also dress appropriately for the weather (thermal underwear, gloves, hat) and bring a bag lunch.
