As salaamu alaikum,
PGMA Girl Scout Troops will be participating in the Association 22 World Thinking Day Festival this Saturday, February 10, 2018 inshaAllah. Girl should arrive at 10:15AM to set up their displays. The festival runs from 11AM – 1PM. Please be timely.
Girls should be in full uniform (white hijab, white shirt & khaki pants or khaki jilbab) with vest unless they will be wearing clothing representing their troop country selection.
As Girl Scouts, we are part of a special group of girls and women that stretches across the world. On February 22 of each year, Girl Scouts and Girl Guides from 146 countries celebrate World Thinking Day. (We’re having our festival celebration a little bit early.) World Thinking Day is a way to celebrate with girls all over the world by doing the same activities. The 2018 World Thinking Day theme is “Impact.” Making an impact means having a strong effect on something or someone.
This World Thinking Day, Girl Scouts and Girl Guides will think about what it means to make an impact on the world—and celebrate being part of the global sisterhood that is Girl Scouts + Girl Guides. World Thinking Day is an opportunity for all Girl Guides & Girl Scouts around the world to develop an understanding about sister scouts worldwide, their countries and their cultures.
We will be donating hats/scarves/gloves/mittens to area schools to make an impact in our own community. Please bring the donation items with you to the festival.
On the day of the event travelers will go from country to country to read displays, sample food, get a SWAP or create a craft. Travelers will also carry a passport which will be stamped at each country by the troop representing that country.
