As salaamu alaikum,
The next regularly scheduled troop meeting will be tomorrow, Friday, Jan 18, 2019, 6 – 8PM, inshaAllah. Please be timely. Arrivals after 6:15PM are disruptive to troop meetings and strongly discouraged.
COOKIES
- Parent volunteers are crucial to a successful troop Cookie Program. We need parents to volunteer to pick up the cookies (a one-time commitment during the first two weeks of February 2019) and chaperone cookie booths (aim to volunteer at least one time for one – two hours per cookie booth from February 15 – March 17, 2019). Step up and help our Girl Scouts achieve their goals!
DAISIES
- Daisies will complete a lesson on healthy bodies and minds and earn their Yoga badge. Daisies should bring a yoga mat and their favorite type of healthy food to the troop meeting this Friday. Some ideas for foods to bring: fruits (orange slices, apple slices, strawberries, grapes, cut pineapple, etc), vegetables ( baby carrots, broccoli, celery, green peppers, red peppers, etc), hummus and chips, salsa and tortilla chips, etc. Girls should bring enough so 15 people can have a small sample. Plates will be provided.

SENIORS & AMBASSADORS
- This Friday, inshaAllah, girls will continue badge work as they begin creating sewing projects through repurposing. Girls are reminded to bring their sewing machines (if they have one and have permission) and old, unwanted garmets to use during their session.
- InshaAllah, on January 21, 2019, 9:30AM to 3PM, the Seniors and Ambassadors have been invited to volunteer with the American Islamic Heritage Museum to participate in the Martin Luther King Day Freedom March Parade and the Day of Service. The museum will provide 500 hot meals and hot drink station stands along part of the parade route in partnership with Islamic Relief USA. Girls will pass out food and drinks and have the opportunity to walk in the parade. Girl Scouts are required to wear their uniform as they will be representing their troop. Girls must let Sis. Aaliyah know by this Friday if they will be participating.
PARENTS
- Parents should see the Snack Mom during the troop meeting to sign up to bring snacks for upcoming troop meetings inshaAllah.
