MITRE is hosting its second Boy Scout and Girl Scout Scout Engineering Day. Classes are open to registered Girl Scout Cadettes (at least 11 years old), Seniors, and Ambassadors. Everyone will receive an event patch and girls will receive a Certificate of Participation. Classes include some of the following: Aviation, Chemistry, Composite Materials, Drafting, Electronics, Energy, Engineering, Model Design & Building, Nuclear Science, Space Exploration.
Some of the classes at the event are only offered in the morning, some in both the morning and afternoon, and some classes are all day classes. You can complete one or two classes based on the classes you select. Written outlines will be provided prior to the event of each module for Girls to be able to set expectations.
Registration is open to Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts in Washington DC metro area. Registration is on a first come first serve basis and classes have a limited number of seats. Registration opens to the public March 7, 2014 at 7PM: Register here. Because the MITRE campus is a secure facility, registration is not available to foreign nationals due to building security.
