SU 22-6 World Thinking Day Celebration, Feb 24

worldthinkingday2017PGMA Girl Scouts are excited to participate in the upcoming World Thinking Day celebration with other Girl Scout troops in our Service Unit.

Girl Scouts are part of a special network of girls that stretches across the world. On February 22 of each year, Girl Scouts and Girl Guides from 146 countries celebrate World Thinking Day — that’s one BIG celebration! World Thinking Day is a great opportunity to rally the global sisterhood around a particular theme. The World Thinking Day 2017 theme is “Grow.”

Our Service Unit, Service Unit 22-6, is celebrating the growth of the education of girls around the world. Girls will participate in an engaging and stimulating night complete with:

  • World Travel
  • Picture Scavenger Hunt
  • Country Quiz
  • Global Action Award activities

Girls who participate will complete the requirements for their World Thinking Day patch and their Global Action Award.

Our regularly scheduled troop meeting on Friday, February 24 will be cancelled so that we can participate in the Service Unit World Thinking Day celebration.

NOTE: PGMA Girl Scouts will prepare for World Thinking Day with a prep meeting at PGMA on Saturday, February 11, 1 – 4PM. Daisy’s are not presenting a country and will only attend World Thinking Day to learn about other countries. Again, Daisies do not need to attend the prep meeting.

Following are the countries each of our levels will be presenting:

  • United Arab Emirates (Brownies)
  • Uganda (Juniors)
  • England (Cadettes)
  • Madagascar (Seniors & Ambassadors)

Parents and guardians who have expertise or something to share from the above countries are encouraged and welcome to enrich the girls’ experience and contact the troop leaders for that level.
