Troop Meeting Reminder, Jan 16

The next regularly scheduled troop meeting will be this Friday, January 16, 6 – 7:30PM, inshaAllah.

Brownies are celebrating the completion of their WOW Journey with a rainbow tea party. Bring $5.
Brownie’s will be selling blanket throws as a part of their WOW Journey Action Project. This is a really special fundraiser because the Brownies made the blanket throws themselves. After learning about the importance of water, the girls decided that they would like to raise money to make a charitable donation for people who have minimal access to water. The proceeds from the fundraiser will be given to the Good Gift Foundation to help build wells in a third world country. HURRY! The blankets are going fast. They are only $12 each. With only six blankets left, they will be sold on a first-come first-served basis.

Artist Zahra Yahya will be demonstrating art techniques. Girls who attended the Junior Drawing badge workshop should bring their work to share.
Bring $7 to purchase a GET MOVING! Journey book

Bring supplies to work on the peacemaker box or vision board project: shoe box or foam board, colored pencils, markers, magazines, scissors and glue.

Service Unit Skate Night tickets are available for pick-up from Sis. Kesha after the troop meeting. A few extra tickets are still available for purchase. Tickets will not be available for purchase at the door, THIS SUNDAY, Jan 18.

Due to a scheduling conflict, we are moving the peacemaker box/vision board project to the 16 January troop meeting inshaAllah. Cadettes will need to bring their supplies: shoe box, foam board, colored pencils, markers, magazines, scissors and glue.
Read and do the Peacemaker portion of your aMaze Journey book. I will not be supplying what you need to do this portion of the badge. We will brainstorm and Cadettes will work in groups.
If you need to catch up in the aMaze Journey, please do so before 16 January because we are moving on. All journey work must be complete to receive the aMaze Awards.
On January 30, we will be meal-planning and working on the Eating for Beauty badge with Dr. Qadira Ali inshaAllah.

Brownies have voted for their new crest. Bees symbolize hard work — and having fun while you’re doing it. Buy it online or at your Girl Scout shop. We may have a few at the meeting for $1.50.
The dress-up Rainbow Tea Party has been rescheduled to January 16, inshaAllah.
All WOW journey pages need to be completed to receive the badges. Pages 77, 84, 85, 99, 106 – 109 were assigned last week. Pages 56 – 59, 82, 83 were assigned the previous meeting as well as page 29. We will review them after Investiture.
For their WOW Action Project, Brownies will be selling blanket throws for $12 each to raise funds to make a charitable donation to assist building wells in an African country through Good Gift Foundation.
