Troop Meeting Cancelled This Friday, Apr 11

large_gonecampingLots of Troop 3480 girl scouts and several dedicated troop leaders and volunteers will be camping at Camp Brighton Woods this weekend beginning this Friday evening, inshaAllah. Troop Management has decided to cancel this Friday’s troop meeting on April 11.

We’ll see you at the next troop meeting on Friday, April 25, 6 – 7:30PM, inshaAllah.

Those who are not going camping should take this time to complete the early bird registration for 2014-2015. Girl Scouts currently registered with Troop 3480 should re-register by June 1, 2014 or risk losing their spot in the Fall.

Cookie Update & Junior Notes

A short but very important note from the Cookie Mom Zakiya:
Troop 3480 is coming to the end of the 2014 Cookie Season. Cookies balances must to be paid at the troop meeting this Friday, 28 March, before 6:30PM.

 

 

Juniors
At this Friday’s troop meeting, Junior parents are invited to attend our Court of Awards Ceremony. The girls have decided to cook a dish each. We’ll have a hostess, a waitress, a scout to distribute badges, and some girls will do short speeches about how Girl Scouts has impacted their life. Girls will be dressing up as they were at the pinning ceremony: girls should wear a skirt or dress along with their Girl Scout vest. No athletic shoes, please. Note: the Junior troop Eco City Farm Tour has been cancelled until after Encampment. InshaAllah, Sis. Yasmeen will try arrange a tour for the entire troop and interested families. Until then, consider attending Eco City Farm’s Open House on Saturday, 10AM – 12PM.

InshaAllah, from now on, the Junior troop leaders intend to inform parents about Junior events by the middle of the week following the troop meetings.

Court of Awards Troop Meeting & Trip Reminders

Court of Awards
Troop 3480 has been busy, busy, busy. It’s time to give our hard working Girl Scouts their awards. At a Court of Awards, Girl Scouts receive recognition for their accomplishments in the form of patches, badges, pins and certificates. Court of awards is another Girl Scout tradition that all Girl Scouts share. The Court of Awards will take place this Friday, at the March 28 troop meeting, inshaAllah. Girls will receive their awards and share in our troop’s accomplishments. Please note: Badges, patches and etc. will be given to girls whose dues have been paid.

Trip Reminders
Seniors/Ambassador horseback riding (Sunday, March 30) permission slips and money are due. Correction: All slots are full. Brownie Bug Badge (Saturday, March 29) permission slips and money are due this Friday. Payments and permission slips will not be accepted on the day of events.

See you at the troop meeting this Friday, 28 March, 6 – 7:30PM.
