Cadettes to Soar to New Heights at Terrapin Adventures, 20 Dec

terrapinAdventuresLogoFor up to 2 hours Troop 3480 Cadettes will be able to try all 12 routes of the Terrapin Tower. Girls are always attached while climbing, either on our auto-belay or manual belay systems. Girls can climb the traditional rock wall sides or try out the vertical playground filled with cargo nets, logs, tires and rope ladders. After reaching the top, girls can either be lowered back to the ground or try to wiggle back to the ground head first in the Rainbow Serpent. Traverse across the cable walk to the Zip Platform. Girls will be clipped into the Zip Trolley and can jump, skip, leap, or fall off the platform. Girls will glide to the end of our 330-foot Zip Line, then glide back to the middle where friendly staff will assist them down.

Participants need to be at least 8 years old, 48 inches tall and weigh between 60 and 275 lbs.

Dress for the weather. Comfortable shoes. Please plan to arrive at 2PM to meet the guides, get equipment, and begin the safety orientation. The program will NOT run in the event of thunder, lightning, or winds in excess of 40 mph.

Are You Troop 3480’s Next Cookie Manager?

mtc_treshortAsalaamu Aliakum

A well known component of Girl Scouting is the Cookie Program, the largest girl-run business in the world. Troop 3480 needs YOU to be our Cookie Manager for the 2014-2015 cookie season. Training, materials and ongoing support will be provided by the Girl Scout Council of the Nation’s Capital. Cookie Managers:

  • plan and conduct a safe, fun, and successful cookie sale.
  • work from December to April managing the cookie selling process through the eBudde system.
  • must be a registered volunteer and take the eBudde training required.
  • must have access to internet and a reliable email address.
  • work with the Troop Managers in making deposits and tracking cookie sales.

Troop 3480 urgently needs a Cookie Manager by December or we will not be able to raise funds for the troop through Girl Scout cookie sales for the 2014-2015 Cookie Season. See the Troop Cookie Manager Appointment form for more details on the duties, responsibilities and qualifications of Cookie Managers. Also take a peek at the Troop Cookie Manager Handbook.

Please contact Sis. Kesha after a troop meeting or email keshabdulm [at] gmail [dot] com.
